ODE TO THE POINTE SHOE

You are the passion in my life,

Your pink satin ribbons

Wrap me in your love.

Your strong, elegant figure

Supports me through thick and thin.

When taking a leap of faith

High in the air

It’s always effortless with your care.

With every new beginning

There’s always a little pain.

With a little dedication,

Eventually I feel sane.

I give you thanks

For never letting me stop,

Cause now I will keep going

Till I have reached the top.
